Lessons from A Bouncer on Common Sense Self Defense-Part Two

Dr. Bohdi Sanders, "The Wisdom Warrior", interviews Mr. Clint Overland,
about warrior values, self defense, and his 20 years of experience as a
bouncer. This is part two of a two part interview. Both Dr. Sanders and Mr. Overland are co-hosts of the Warrior Traditions Podcast.

Born
in Lubbock Tx in 1969, I was reared in the rough and tumble world of
farmers, ranchers, truckers and rednecks. I spent a stint in the U.S.
Air Force in the late 80's and early 90's. I began a life of bouncing
and other less honorable jobs at this time. I have been arrested more
times than I'll talk about but never convicted. Been shot, stabbed, set
on fire, and beat with everything from beer bottles to golf clubs.

I am the proud father of four great kids and the husband of a very
patient wife who deals with my insanity to the best of her ability. I
have spent the past 8 years trying to change my life and make up for
some of the evil I've done. I am a Christian but not a good one (Thanks
God for grace) and still trying to improve. I hope that I can make a
difference in just one person's live through the Warriors Heart and if I do, it makes it all worthwhile.

LYNN WIESE SNEYD, AUTHOR is a freelance writer focusing on health and parenting issues. She earned a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In 1998, she received a writing fellowship at the Ragdale Foundation in Lake Forest, Illinois, where she began work on her book Holistic Parenting: Raising Children To A New Physical, Emotional And Spiritual Well-Being.

Lynn became interested in Holistic Medicine as a result of her husbandâs degenerative nerve condition. After he endured seven years of unsuccessful conventional medical treatments, she decided to explore the world of Alternative Medicine. As she learned, she gradually incorporated changes in her familyâs lifestyle. A pantry of organic foods, a kitchen without chemical cleaners and a microwave, and a medicine cabinet full of herbal and homeopathic remedies have become her familyâs norms. In addition, her children no longer receive vaccinations. Her eight-year-old daughter has never been on an antibiotic, despite having childhood bouts with ear infections, sore throats, colds and flu.

After experiencing the simplicity and effectiveness of a holistic lifestyle, Lynn decided to write Holistic Parenting. The book explores such topics as Homeopathy, Herbal Medicine, Ayurveda, Organic Nutrition, Environmental Toxins, Vaccinations and Holistic Dentistry.

She also contributed to Healthy Solutions: A Guide to Simple Healing and Healthy Wisdom, written by David N.
Introduction to Mr. Clint Overland- co-host of Warrior Traditions Podcast

Dr. Kevin Keough, creator of the Warrior Traditions Project, interviews Mr. Clint Overland, co-host of the Warrior Traditions Podcast.

Born in Lubbock Tx in 1969, I was reared in the rough and tumble world of farmers, ranchers, truckers and rednecks. I spent a stint in the U.S. Air Force in the late 80's and early 90's. I began a life of bouncing and other less honorable jobs at this time. I have been arrested more times than I'll talk about but never convicted. Been shot, stabbed, set on fire, and beat with everything from beer bottles to golf clubs.

I am the proud father of four great kids and the husband of a very patient wife who deals with my insanity to the best of her ability. I have spent the past 8 years trying to change my life and make up for some of the evil I've done. I am a Christian but not a good one (Thanks God for grace) and still trying to improve. I hope that I can make a difference in just one person's live through the Warriors Heart and if I do, it makes it all worthwhile.

You can contact me at coverland69@suddenlink.net or add me as a friend at http://www.myspace.com/performanceevolution

An Interview With Jim Standing Bear

Dr. Kevin Keough, host of the Warrior Traditions Podcast, interviews Jim Standing Bear.

Jim Standing Bear Wheatley is a Comanche/Choctaw artist. His father was adopted and the road to discovering his ancestry has been a long and difficult. Jim's prayers come to him sometimes in the early morning with the sun, sometimes by a river bank, and sometimes when he is with his wife and son. Creating with the wood is his way of sharing what is inside. Even the wood is specially selected. Each piece must speak to his heart. Jim believes that using the pictures of the old ones is a way of honoring their lives and keeping their wisdom alive in all of our hearts. Some writings are original and some are quotes from great Native Americans of the past....

Special orders can be created if there is a saying or prayer that is meaningful to the person wanting the piece. The native peoples are very important to Jim. One of his greatest joys is speaking with the Elders and listening to their stories. Originally, the wood creations started because Jim had the need to share what was in his heart. He felt it was something he had to do. has become his way of getting in touch with his spiritual side. Visit the Dakota S.W. Traders website and the Tiger Mountain Ranch Resort website.
